​​Lucky Star Farm is proud to be the second RAWMI listed dairy in Iowa and was distinguished as a RAWMI listed raw milk dairy as of October 10, 2023. The Raw Milk Institute (RAWMI) is a non-profit international organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the safe and hygienic production of raw milk and raw milk products for direct human consumption. RAWMI teaches well-established scientific principles and good manufacturing methods to assist farmers to produce hygienic safe raw milk. I use a machine to milk each goat once a day. While on the milk stand, the doe gets her daily ration of grain and extra love. Best practices for milking and sanitation protocols are used and can be provided in detail upon request. The milk is chilled immediately then brought to the kitchen for straining, bottling and additional chilling and storage at below 40 degrees.


As per Iowa law effective 7/1/23, milk is tested in our on-farm lab a minimum of once per month for coliform count and standard plate count. The counts are below the legal limits for sale.


Milk can be purchased direct to consumer in quart jars.
